Simona Perian is a teacher in the ECONOMIC COLLEGE „FRANCESCO SAVERIO NITTI“ in Timisoara
Who was the baking group?
We are an intergenerational group, made only of women, 4 teachers and 11 students from tenth and eleventh grade.
Where did the baking action take place?
ECONOMIC COLLEGE „FRANCESCO SAVERIO NITTI“ – Gastronomy laborator
How many sparrows were baked?
We baked 4 portions, each containing 12 sparrows, having in total 48 sparrows.
Can you tell us about the baking action?
Before starting baking, we got dressed in traditional clothes, then the students met because some of them didn’t know each other, being in different classes. Then, with a lot of enthusiasm, we’ve started backing. After that, we’ve made the dough and let it grow. One hour later we started to form the sparrows. We’ve put a lot of love in this whole activity!
For whom did you bake?
We’ve baked for the ninth grade students, living in the boarding school, and students from other schools which were there for an extracurricular activity.
Why did you select this recipient group? What are the reasons?
We’ve chosen to bake for these groups because the ninth grade students are in accommodation period and they don’t have many friends in the school. They are far from family and they certainly need more friends and joy. The other group, made of students from other schools, was having a different activity there at the moment and we thought it will be nice to share with them what we’ve baked.
What emotions did baking and sharing trigger in you and the recipients?
This activity brought us joy, love, and some of the students which didn’t known each other at the beginning , got to be good friends at the end. These sparrows formed a lot of bonds between our students.
