Vojvođanska česnica – Vojvodina’s Christmas Cake „Česnica“

Ingredients:
500 g pie crusts
500 g ground nuts
350 g sugar
1.5 dl oil
4 dl mineral water
300 g honey (separate two spoonfuls for coating)

Preparation:
Put the honey into a pan and warm to be fluid. As it cools, if necessary, turn it a little warm. All pie crusts sprayed with slightly mineral water, oil and with honey. Mix the ground nuts and sugar, and place it on each pie crusts. In the middle of the Christmas cake “česnica”, put a coin.

Anoint a baking pan and put two sheets, spray them with oil and water. On the third put the filling with mix of walnut, sugar and a little honey. So do until you spend all the bark. You can put also raisins, chopped dried figs, almonds, hazelnuts.
Bake in oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. While the cake is baked in the pan, heat two tablespoons of honey with 2 dl water and carefully with a spoon, spread on the cake. Turn off the oven and return the cake back in the oven to cool and absorb this coating/filling.

Vojvođanska česnica

Sastojci:

500 gr kora
500 gr mlevenih oraha
350 gr šećera
1,5 dl ulja
4 dl mineralne vode

300 gr meda (od toga odvojiti dve pune kašike za premaz kada se česnica ispeče)

 

Priprema:

Med staviti u šerpicu i ugrejati na šporetu, da bude tečan da bi se kore mogle prskati. Kako se hladi, med se zgušnjava, pa po potrebi, opet ga malo ugrejati. Sve kore se prskaju sa malo kisele vode i ulja a svaka druga i sa medom. Izmešati mlevene orahe i šećer, ta smesa se stavlja na sve kore (otprilike 5 punih kašika na svaku koru). Na polovini slaganja Česnice, staviti dobro opran novčić u Česnicu.
Podmazati uljem tepsiju i staviti dve kore, poprskati ih uljem i vodom. Na treću koru staviti fil od oraha, šećera i malo meda. Tako raditi dok se ne potroše sve kore. U Česnicu se može staviti i suvo grožđe, iseckane suve smokve, bademi, lešnici.
Peći u rerni na 180 stepeni oko 20 minuta. Dok se Česnica peče, u šerpici ugrejati dve pune kašike meda sa 2 dl vode i time pažljivo, sa kašikom, premazati zareze u česnici pet minuta pred kraj pečenja. Isključiti rernu i vratiti Česnicu u rernu da se tu prohladi i upije premaz.
