Bread connects 190 people of all ages in Ruse on 12th October

In the frame of the second international partner meeting of the project ODDA, an event regarding the topic “Bread connects” excellently organized by Prof. Emiliya Velikova took place at University of Ruse in the frame of the Bread Baking Week along the Danube, organized by the Network Danube-Networkes.  190  people, representatives of the University, town and district of Ruse, senior groups from Ruse city and the district Slivo Pole, students of the University of Ruse and the High school of Tourism as well as students from the German-speaking Friedrich Schiller High school and 25 participants coming from Ulm, Belgrad and Backa Palanka, Timisoara took part in this afternoon.

The event helped to show by a bread exhibition the range and diversity of bread traditions in Bulgaria, especially in the Ruse district, to the partners from the other Danube countries. It also gave the participants of the ODDA project the opportunity to test the materials, key words and songs developed by them.

First, the president of the University of Ruse Angel Kanchev, Prof. Penchova, solemnly presented the Honorary Medal of the University to Carmen Stadelhofer, coordinator of the educational network Danube-Networkers, for her accomplishments in cooperation with the University of Ruse in the field of adult education, after that to the mayor of Slivo Pole for his engagement in the field of senior education. Speeches by different notabilities of the city, the province and different civil associations followed. In her speech, Carmen Stadelhofer pointed out the importance of the Danube strategy of the European Commission and the importance of the civic society for maintaining a common peaceful, prospering and solidary Europe. She thanked for the good cooperation in 18 smaller and bigger cooperation projects since 2010 with Ruse University together with the Pensioners Club District Ruse and other civic organizations in the context of the Danube-Networkers.

Bread connects! Students of the High school of Tourism in Ruse presented a wide range of breads, dedicated to different religious and cultural festivities, and typical wine from the region,  Friedrich Schiller High School brought a typical ritual bread in honour of Saint George, the delegation from Silistra brought traditional welcoming bread, too. Also, the participants from other European countries brought country-specific sweet and savoury delicacies. These were tasted during a reception.

The afternoon was enriched by different shows performed by singing groups from two senior groups  of Ruse, Romanian singers and students from Friedrich Schiller High School.

Brot verbindet am 12. Oktober 190 Menschen jeden Alters in Ruse

Im Rahmen des zweiten internationalen Partnertreffens des Projekts  ODDA fand an der Universität Ruse im Rahmen der „Brot-Back-Woche entlang der Donau“ der Danube-Networkers  eine Veranstaltung zum Thema „Bread connects“ statt, die von Frau Prof. Emiliya Velikova hervorragend organisiert wurde.  Ca.190  Personen trafen zusammen, Vertreter/-innen der Universität, der Stadt, der Provinz und  Vertreter/innen von Seniorengruppen aus  der Stadt Ruse und dem District Slivo Pole, Studierende der Universität und der Hochschule für Tourismus, Schüler/-innen des deutschsprachigen Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasiums sowie  25 Projektteilnehmende aus Ulm, Belgrad und Backa Palanka und  Timisoara.

Die Veranstaltung diente dazu, den Partnern aus den anderen Donauländern die Reichweite und Vielfalt der Brottraditionen in Bulgarien, speziell im Distrikt Ruse, zu zeigen. Sie gab aber auch, den Teilnehmenden im ODDA-Projekt die Möglichkeit, die von ihnen entwickelten Materialien, Keywords, und Gesang zu erproben.

Zunächst gab es eine festliche Überreichung der Universitätsmedaille durch die Rektorin der Universität, Prof. Penchova,  an Carmen Stadelhofer, Koordinatorin des Bildungsnetzwerks Danube-Networkers, für ihre Verdienste in der Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Ruse im Bereich Erwachsenenbildung und an den Bürgermeister von Slivo Pole für seinen engagierten Einsatz in Sachen Seniorenbildung. Es folgten Reden verschiedener Honoratioren aus der Stadt, der Provinz und verschiedener Verbände. Carmen Stadelhofer verwies in ihrer Rede auf die Bedeutung der  Donaustrategie und die wichtige Rolle  der Zivilgesellschaft für den Erhalt eines gemeinsamen friedlichen, prosperierenden und solidarischen Europa. Sie lobte die gute Zusammenarbeit seit 2010 mit der Universität Ruse in 18  größeren  und kleineren  Kooperationsprojekten, zusammen mit dem Pensionärsclub Ruse und anderen zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen..

Bread connects!  Die Studierenden der Hochschule für Tourismus in Ruse präsentierten eine reichhaltige Palette von Brotgebilden für verschiedene religiöse und kulturelle Anlässe  und typischen Wein aus der Region, die  Friedrich-Schiller-Schule brachte ein typisches rituelles Brot zu Ehren des Hl. Georg mit, die Delegation aus Silistra ein traditionelles Begrüßungsbrot. Auch die Vertreter/-innen der verschiedenen Ländergruppen aus dem ODDA-Projekt brachten landestypische süße und salzige Brote mit. Diese Köstlichkeiten konnten bei dem anschließenden  Empfang probiert werden.

Der Nachmittag wurde durch verschiedene Auftritte von Gesangsgruppen von Seniorengruppe und Schülerinnen aus dem Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium wie Beiträge aus der rumänischen Gruppe bereichert.
