- The baking house in Schafhausen was built in 1805 as a forge.
- The parish bought it in 1855 and rebuilt it into a baking house with a flat. The flat has been used as a youth area since 1978. This is what it says on a board in front of the baking house.
- The baking house has a wood-fired oven which is heated up with bundles of brushwood.
- 3 families and 2 clubs use the baking house.
- Baking takes place every 8th week or every 3 – 6 months.
- The clubs bake once a year.
- Bread and onion tarts are being baked.
- The sports club organises a baking house feast every June, with baking bread on Friday and around 200 onion tarts on Saturday and Sunday
- The horticultural association organises a village fair next to the community centre on one Sunday in July. For this occasion, 200 onion tarts are being bake
