Weil der Stadt-Schafhausen (D-71263)

  • The baking house in Schafhausen was built in 1805 as a forge.
  • The parish bought it in 1855 and rebuilt it into a baking house with a flat. The flat has been used as a youth area since 1978. This is what it says on a board in front of the baking house.
  • The baking house has a wood-fired oven which is heated up with bundles of brushwood.
  • 3 families and 2 clubs use the baking house.
  • Baking takes place every 8th week or every 3 – 6 months.
  • The clubs bake once a year.
  • Bread and onion tarts are being baked.
  • The sports club organises a baking house feast every June, with baking bread on Friday and around 200 onion tarts on Saturday and Sunday
  • The horticultural association organises a village fair next to the community centre on one Sunday in July. For this occasion, 200 onion tarts are being bake

Weil der Stadt - Schafhausen (D-71263)

  • Das Backhaus im Stadtteil Schafhausen von Weil der Stadt  wurde 1805 als Schmiedewerkstatt gebaut.
  • Die Stadt kaufte es 1855 und baute es zu einem Backhaus mit Wohnung um. Seit 1978 wird die Wohnung als CVJM Jugendraum genutzt. So steht es an einer Tafel am Backhaus.
  • Das Backhaus hat einen Holzofen, dieser wird mit Reisigbüschel beheizt.
  • 3 Familien und 2 Vereine nutzen das Backhaus
  • Gebacken wir  alle 8 Wochen bzw. alle 3-6 Monate
  • Die Vereine backen  ein Mal im Jahr
  • Gebacken werden Brot und Zwiebelkuchen
  • Der Sportverein macht im Juni eine Hocketse am Backhaus, freitags wird Brot gebacken, samstags und sonntags jeweils ca. 200 Zwiebelkuchen
  • Der Obst- und Gartenbauverein macht an einem Sonntag im Juli eine Hocketse bei der Festhalle. Dabei werden ca. 200 Zweibelkuchen gebacken.
