- The Wartberg Bakehouse Club operates this bakehouse.
- The Wartberg is part of central borough of Stuttgart-Nord.
- The bakehouse was built on the occasion of the International Gardening Exhibition in 1993.
- The bakehouse club was founded by neighbors, and due to their efforts, the temporary bakehouse was not demolished.
- The club members replaced the temporary container walls by real walls.
- A professional kitchen, a wood-burning baking oven, and a dough kneading machine were bought with money earned during the baking events.
- In 1994, the first baking fest took place.
- In addition to bread, they also bake salt cake, plaited yeast buns, peach cake, apple cookies, and leek cake.
- Three times a year a big baking fest takes place, for which they use up to 320 kilograms of flour and 700 eggs.
- More than 80 salt cakes and about 70 big baking trays full of sweet cookies are sold on each of these occasions.
- The Bakehouse Club is famous for their brioche-like yeast buns – they sell like hotcakes!
- The Wartberg Bakehouse Club has 50 members, and their internet page is: https://www.backhausverein-wartberg.de/ .
