- The baking house in Buchheim has been in use since the 1870s. Before, another baking house was used.
- Since 1891, the baking house has been used at the expense of the parish.
- The baking house has got two wood-fired ovens
- It is heated up with 1 metres long logs of wood – softwood that can be found in the forest after storms. The marching band of Buchheim does the splitting and bundling of the logs.
- There are three regular baking days per week with one or two ovens – depending on the demand
- 54 families bake and each has its own fixed dates in the baking calendar. Additional baking times must be arranged with the baking lady.
- Each week, 170 – 200 kg bread are baked
- During the “Buchheimer Christmas Market” there are Christmas baking activities for children, the accordion club Buchheim bakes during the local fair at the open-air museum in Neuhausen ob Eck, the clubs and associations bake bread for local festivities, young parishioners bake the altar bread for their confirmation and each of them one for their family celebrations.
- During the summer break programme for children, there are activities with the kindergartens
